THE PROGRAMME
Children participate in a full programme of sports training, coaching and matches in a variety of sports from early morning until sunset. We adopt a sport for all ethos and so all levels of ability are catered for.
We love seeing children playing new sports and developing new skills. There is also plenty to keep the serious sports player engaged as our courses always attract many county standard players too. Competitive matches and tournaments are arranged against other school groups and local teams.
ALL SPORTS, ALL DAY
All Sports Club at Bryanston truly lives up to its name with almost every conceivable sport being played! Sports available include; football, cricket, tennis, swimming, waterpolo, basketball, dodgeball, badminton, squash, fives, hockey, netball, rounders, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, spikeball, indoor cycling, touch rugby, athletics, gymnastics and dance.
We have exclusive use of Bryanston’s brilliant facilities which include; six grass cricket nets, four cricket pitches, ten grass five-a-side football pitches, three eleven-a-side football pitches, two full sized hockey Astroturf pitches, five netball courts, a 400 metre athletics track and associated athletics facilities and a staggering fifty four tennis courts; including ten high quality grass courts.
The school also has its own brand new sports complex with four squash courts, a table tennis salon with six tables, four indoor cricket nets, a gymnasium, a volleyball court, 2 sports halls, a fitness suite, indoor cycling studio, swimming pool and an indoor athletics track.
REST, REFUEL, RELAX
Accommodation will be in one of the school’s boarding houses; in groups of up to 4 per room. Each boarding house has an experienced 'house parent' and a number of assistants who together look after the pastoral needs of the children. The course is action packed but no one goes hungry. Breakfast, lunch and supper are served in the school’s dining hall. Mealtimes are a particular highlight for many of our participants!
If you are still hungry after the delicious food provided there is always the option to visit the famous Bryanston Café. The milkshakes and cookies are legendry! Each day ends with hot chocolate and biscuits back in the boarding houses.
Each course’s closing party is a highlight and includes exhibition matches against the coaches, a prize giving ceremony; where every child is recognised for their contribution to the course, a disco and a visit from the ice cream van. What a way to end the course!
THE TEAM
The children will enjoy expert coaching from the All Sports Club team who are carefully chosen for their extensive experience of coaching and playing their sport. Most of the team are qualified PE teachers and are experts in their field; many have played their sport to a high level themselves.
The safety and wellbeing of every child are paramount to us. Every member of the coaching team is given safeguarding training and DBS certificates are checked. We are lucky to have many coaches who return every year. Their enthusiastic, cheerful and thoughtful approach ensures every child has a memorable time.
ACCREDITATION
We are members of the British Activity Providers Association (BAPA). BAPA members have all agreed to abide by the BAPA Code of Practice and are committed to high standards of safety, value for money and customer service. All Sports Club at Bryanston achieved a successful inspection of facilities and sports coaching in July 2024. For more information on BAPA and its members please see www.thebapa.org.uk
We also hold The LOtC Quality Badge (renewed in 2024). This is the only national award combining the essential elements of provision - learning and safety - into a trusted accreditation scheme for all types of learning outside the classroom provider. The Department for Education guidance on Health & Safety on educational visits recommends that schools look for the LOtC Quality Badge when choosing external providers of educational visits. www.lotcqualitybadge.org.ukAll Sports Club at Bryanston received a successful inspection by Ofsted in 2024.
